The Local Government Auditing Quarterly is a publication of the Association of Local Government Auditors, released four times per year in March, June, September, and December. The Quarterly covers topics of interest to professionals
who provide audit services to local governments, as well as the broader audit community. Articles cover a broad spectrum of topics ranging from internal controls and risk assessment to standards and professional development. Submit your article!

Authors may also contribute an article to one of the Quarterly’s recurring columns:
- The TechKnow column is a space for auditors to write about IT and data analysis, whether it's audits they've performed, basics in IT and data analysis, or emerging issues in those topics.
- The Eye on DEI column highlights the work that ALGA members are doing related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, including in their audits or their work on ALGA committees.
- The New Auditor column features observations from auditors who have recently entered the profession as well as longtime auditors transitioning within or across the field.
- The Auditors’ Choice column allows auditors to submit articles of interest to the membership which do not align with the current Quarterly theme. Articles can be about any content relevant to the auditing profession, from career development to audit and consulting engagement results to building an audit function from scratch.
